For all my students at Atma Jaya University
Keep your world BIG: Never confine yourselves behind four walls, travel the world and see, experience it.
Appreciate YOURSELF: Refuse to under-estimate yourself, be confident yet humble to all your friends.
Stay awake, be AWARE: Do not fall asleep – wake up dan always be on alert, look around you, enjoy nature.
BE yourself: Stay special – be what you should be, you are unique and spercial as YOU ARE.
Develop your TALENTS: Invest in yourselves, jump into life – do not be afraid, dream your dreams.
Let yourself be HAPPY: Embrace happiness, smile, laugh, enjoy life while you are still young.
BE independent: Live uprightly and courageously, live your own life and be responsible for yourself.
Learn to LOVE: Learn the meaning of love, love your parents, brothers and sisters, love nature.
WRITE letters or diary: Write anything from poems to journals, express yourself in words, write them all.
Read, read, read, READ: Never feel bored nor tired of reading, books are your best teachers and friends in life.
Relax, sing, dance: Do not let your work nor study make you dull people, listen to music, sing songs.
Be OPEN-minded: It needs you to open your mind to get wiser, even at your young-age, open your ears!
LISTEN with your eyes: It sounds odd to you, but sometimes seeing is also hearing, not necessarily with ears.
Share and GIVE: The world may teach you to “take and then give”, why not try the opposite?
VALUE your time: No need to tell you this, but have you valued ‘your time’ as you MUST, as you should?
Be tough but gentle: You know this well, nurture your good qualities, do not submit to wrong-doings nor sins.
Treasure your work: Be proud of your achievements, but never look down on others. This is a moment of Grace.
Welcome tomorrow: Forget yesterdays, focus on today – this very moment, this very minute, welcome it.
Walk the extra mile: Never let any single stone without having to inspect it one by one, do extra, do more.
Be a DOER: Not just a dreamer! Dream your dreams, and make them come true! We do not need NATO.
Be thankful to GOD: Appreciate everything you had received, say thanks to-and praise HIM, talk to GOD often enough, say your happy or sad stories, communicate as often as you can during the day, and say your prayers to end your day, before you go to sleep, in total submission and surrendering, in total obedience ‘as a child’. God loves people who come to HIM in a child-like manner. Why don’t we do this?
